About The Course

This course is designed to help you learn or expand your ability to move on the floor, as well as transition between the three coordination levels we often work with: standing, ground movement, and floor level.

The course includes 10 chapters. The course as well as each chapter are built progressively, exploring a series of patterns and tasks. The emphasis is not only on learning new movements, but, as in all our courses, on developing a deeper understanding through context: how to engage with the patterns freely and creatively, how to adapt them to your own structure and current abilities, and how to explore the motions in a way that gives you more autonomy in your practice.

Our emphasis is on exploration and finding a sense of playfulness within the learning process, keeping the practice alive, challenging and fun at each step.

The course is taught entirely by Josephine Haas, movement teacher, dancer and performer with over 20 years of experience. Josephine will take you through a journey in and out of the floor, developing smoother movement quality, better coordination on the floor, and a sharper perception.

The course is intended for both beginner and intermediate levels, so wherever you are in your practice, you will be able to engage with the material and learn from it.

FAQ

  • Who is this course for?

For the casual practitioner, the curious movers and the professional dancers. For anyone with or without experience, who wish to start, refine or expand their floorwork practice and their capacity for creative thinking and explorative behaviour. Practicioners and teachers who want to learn how to better structure their practice and maximise learning, while keeping the practice alive, open and fun.

  • How is the course structured?

The course is structured progressively, so we recommend following the chapters in order. Each chapter is also built step by step, moving between pattern learning and task-based exploration.
